After going through the storyboard I sketched, I felt like something was missing, the movie needed something to make it alive, and thats when I came with the character Idea which is to have a bird flying in the movie to add life.
What I had in mind is to have the bird as the main character, the story starts with a bird flying over the countries, until one day he pass by Maliha city and decide to explore this lost city.
I managed to to bring the bird to life and rigged the character, finally I made a clean digital storyboard for the intro of the animation
so this is part 1 of the storyboard
So now, almost everything is ready to render, but I need a story for animation
thats why I tried to sketch some ideas out of my head for the movie
and this is what I got so far
Now it’s time to put everything I got together then edit the textures, add lights, control the enviroment and placing the camera for test renders in the mean time.
Well, after all the informations, sketches and material gathering, I decided that the time has come to start with the 3D modeling for Maliha Town.
The softwares that will be used is Lightwave 3D for modeling, Photoshop CS4 for editing the images, After Effects CS4 for compostiting the final images and effects.
in this post I will show you some images of the start where I modeled the fort walls and towers + houses.
Enjoy
Hello Everyone
I believe this is my 9th post in this blog about this project
Well, the next step for me was to define the floors in the fort because some sides had 1 floor and some had 2, and this is all based on the reports and theories provided by the archaeologists.
I also started to define where the fort is located in Maliha city and where were the houses placed around it so I can form the map and the environment in my head, so here are the images of the development in my ideas and project
I also managed to sketch and trace a plan for the city compared to the hight of sea level so I can design the environment more accurately.
you are welcome to comment
In this post I would like to talk about Logo designing, since my project is mainly an ( advertising campaign ) in a way, I decided that the place and the town needs a logo to identify it.
So I made some sketches for the logo and I got the final 5 drafts from the logo
Enjoy
After visiting the place for many times and gather all the information and materials I got from there, I started sketching the place and visualizing the fort based on the study I did with help from the materials I got.
I’m going to show you now some images that includes reports about Maliha town, Books, images of buildings for inspiration, sketches and some maps for the place or what they call it
After I started my sketches on the fort and the surrounding area, I really wasn’t sure if they were accurate enough or correct, so I had to go back and pay Professor Michel a visit and interview him.
Thanks to Mohammed Al-Shehhi, we went together there, I had my sketch book with me and my friend Mohammed taped the whole interview with the professor, the questions that were asked were general and mostly about the fort like how it looked like and who used to live in it.
This is a short part of the interview, the whole session lasted for an hour, but i’ll give you the headlines in this video.
